Construction of Chernivtsi-Suceava Euro-gauge to begin in 2026
During the conference “Logistics as a Driver of Economic Growth” held by the independent think tank “We Build Ukraine”, Deputy Minister of Finance Oleksandr Kava said that the construction of a 1435 mm track to Romania on the Chernivtsi-Suceava route will begin in 2026. A feasibility study for this project is currently being prepared.
BMF Port Burgas launches “From East 2 West Connections” project
To improve rail connections, BMF Port Burgas is launching the “From East 2 West Connections” project to connect two terminals – Burgas East 2 and Burgas West – with a 456-meter railroad. This project was presented in Burgas last week.

A consortium of BAWI and Swietelsky will modernize part of the railway infrastructure in Romania’s largest port, Constanta. This is the second phase of a large-scale investment project implemented by Romanian Railways (Caile Ferate Romane/CFR) in Constanta.
Rail Baltica: Lithuania looking for contractor to build superstructure for high-speed railroad
As part of the Rail Baltica project, Lithuania has announced public procurement for the construction of a high-speed railroad superstructure. So far, 86,200 tons of crushed stone, 30,000 tons of reinforced concrete sleepers and 42 km of track have been delivered.
Moldova receives another batch of rails from Kazakhstan for railroad overhaul
On February 10, the railway company Calea Feratã din Moldova received another batch of P-65 rails in the amount of 3,100 tons from the Aktobe Rail and Section Works LLP (Kazakhstan) as part of an agreement signed in early 2024. They will be used for the railway overhaul in Moldova.
New floor warehouse to be launched at Mostyska Dry Port in April
Dmytro Kobzar, the General Director of the Mostyska Dry Port terminal, has announced at the Grain Storage Forum conference that a 4,000 sq m floor warehouse will be put into operation at the terminal in April 2025; the facility is designed to accommodate up to 10,300 tons of cargo.
Global Ocean Link opens two new warehouse complexes at TIS
Global Ocean Link has opened two new warehouse complexes at TIS in Pivdennyi Port with a total capacity of 25,000 tons. The company will store and transship grain, fertilizers and other moisture-sensitive cargoes directly at the terminal without additional contractors.
Moldova receives new batch of rails from Kazakhstan to overhaul railway infrastructure
