Ukrainian wagon building enterprises delivered as many as 251 freight wagons to their customers in July 2024, including 181 hoppers, 65 flat cars, and 5 gondola cars.

Polish railway carrier Silva LS has replenished its fleet with 90 new side rack containers. The new equipment will be used for the transportation of timber on intermodal platforms.
LDZ Cargo reduced starting prices for sale of its locomotives and wagons located in Ukraine
LDZ Cargo, a subsidiary of Latvian Railways (Latvijas dzelzceļš), will hold a second auction for the sale of two TEP70 locomotives on September 12. Note that the previous auction failed due to the lack of bids.
New multimodal complex to be built in Moldova
With the support of USAID’s Moldova Institutional and Structural Reforms Activity (MISRA), a feasibility study has been developed for a future multimodal logistics complex at the Berești railway station in Ungheni, on the border with Romania.

Ukrzaliznytsia continues to build the European gauge railway from Chop to Uzhhorod, and has started preparing the ground for laying the 1435 mm track. The rail and sleeper grid for this section is being assembled at Ukrzaliznytsia’ own facilities.

UZ to purchase 10 shunting locomotives

Freight rolling stock rental rates in Baltic countries in August 2024
The rental rates of freight wagons held generally steady in the Baltic countries in August. The only exception is the range of rental rates of box cars with a body capacity of 161-175 cu m and fitting platforms, as rates were affected by currency fluctuations in those segments.
TAP expansion works scheduled for 2H September
