KAMET-STEEL: expanding export opportunities and strengthening position on EU market

February 23, 2026

The KAMET-STEEL metallurgical plant (Metinvest) announced that at the end of 2025, it received a license from the Lithuanian Construction Products Certification Center (Statybos produkcijos sertifikavimo centras / SPSC) to supply B500SP and B500B grade reinforcing bars to that country. Prior to that, in October 2025, it received a certificate to operate on the Romanian market (for B500C class profiles).

SPSC certified reinforcing steel grades B500SP and B500B in bars with a nominal diameter of 8 to 32 mm, produced on the 400/200 rolling mill of the enterprise. The documents grant the right to supply products to customers in Lithuania in accordance with national standards.

The process was preceded by comprehensive preparation and production auditing. At the end of October, SPSC Director Valdemaras Gauronskis visited the company. The audit was conducted offline and covered the assessment of production processes and the quality control system. Based on its results, a positive decision was made regarding the compliance of the fittings with Lithuanian standards.

Mykhailo Bolotov, Head of the Plant’s Technology Department, noted that the certificates are valid until 2028, confirming the competitiveness of Ukrainian steel and opening up new opportunities for participation in major infrastructure and construction projects in the European Union. According to him, the high assessment by SPSC experts is evidence of confidence in the company’s production and technological processes.

The company emphasizes that entering the Baltic market is part of a systematic strategy to expand its export geography and strengthen the position of Ukrainian metallurgy in the EU.

Recall that in July 2024, the plant certified B500B grade reinforcing steel in Poland. This license (No. 020-UWB-3057/W) confirms the compliance of reinforcing steel with two national technical assessments (KOT) issued by the Polish Institute of Building Technology and the Polish Research Institute for Roads and Bridges. It is valid until 2028.
