The start of the year did not bring any considerable changes to the gondola car market. According to market participants, the cargo offer shortened, which is quite typical during the January long holiday period when the traffic traditionally declines.
As expected, the small-tonnage shipping market is not seeing any particular trade upturn after Christmas and New Year holidays.

According to the latest data provided by the Ventspils Freeport, the cargo turnover did not change much in November compared with October at the port. In particular, the stevedoring companies all together handled a total of 921,000 t of cargo, which is just 5% or 42,000 t above the October result.
