The small-tonnage market remains depressed in the Black and Mediterranean Seas. Amid ongoing shortage of cargo offers (in particular, of grain from Ukrainian and EU ports, steel products from Russia, as well as of fertilizers, minerals and steel products from Turkey), the tonnage list continues to grow in all parts of the basin.

Despite the fact that the period of late October-early November is traditionally the start of the hottest season on the small-tonnage shipping market, no improvements for ship owners can be mentioned so far.
Freight rolling stock rental rates in Baltic countries in October
In October, almost all rental rates in the Baltic countries have stayed at the level of September, with flatcars for timber transportation being the only exception (rental rates inched up in this segment). The changes in flatcar rental rates can still be explained by fluctuations of the currency exchange rate.
