According to Interpipe, the annual contract provides for the supply of over 2,600 tons of steel pipes for the construction of a new high-speed railway line between Brescia and Verona in Italy, which is part of the Mediterranean transport corridor connecting the seaports of southern Spain with Eastern European countries.
Interpipe will supply pipes of various sizes, ranging from 114.3 to 244.5 mm in diameter and with wall thicknesses from 8 to 25 mm. The pipes are made of S355J2H steel, which is characterized by high strength, ductility and resistance to low temperatures. The pipes will be used to manufacture piles and micropiles, which are foundation elements that ensure the stability of bridges and other engineering structures in difficult soil conditions.
The requirement to supply pipes of various lengths, cut to individual specifications, was a special feature of the order. This approach makes it possible to optimize the manufacturing process for piles and micropiles, reduce the number of technological operations at the construction site and increase the overall efficiency of the work.
Note that approximately a quarter of the total volume has already been shipped.
Recall that the company’s previous orders included the supply of 300 tons of pipes with a diameter of 219 mm for the construction of a bridge across the Saale River as part of a project to build a bypass road for the A143 motorway near Halle (Germany).
