On November 8-9, Chisinau hosted a trilateral meeting of representatives of the railways of Ukraine, Romania, and Moldova to improve the situation with transportation on the Reni – Giurgiulesti – Galati and vice versa routes.
About 6,200 wagons with grain were found waiting for unloading at Ukrainian sea ports on November 9. Taking into account that approximately 980 wagons are daily accepted at the stations, it might take up to 6 days to serve all these wagons.
The overall cargo turnover dropped by 139,000 t to 1.6 million t at the Riga Freeport in October, showing a decrease of 8% compared with September 2023.
LV Agroo, a Latvian company engaged in the production and distribution of mineral fertilizers, has provided loading of its own products to containers that arrived at the port of Riga with agricultural products from Ukraine.

As many as 3,500 wagons were moving to the Izov station on November 2, including 1,200 wagons with cakes, 457 wagons with vegetable oil, and 173 wagons with grain. About 1,600 wagons were on their way to the Mostyska-2 station on that date, including 900 containers.
A total of 120.59 million tonnes of goods of various product groups were transported in the Ukrzaliznytsia rail network during the period started January 1 and ended October 31, 2023, down 7% compared with the same period of the previous year.
The cargo turnover of the Port of Klaipeda increased by 1% in October compared with September.
In the USA, export quotes for soybeans have shown an upturn due to strong Chinese demand. Analysts say China’s oilseed imports will remain strong in Q4 and total shipments in 2023 will be a record.
Winter harvesting continues in Australia. Chinese demand for wheat is growing. Reportedly, China purchased about 2 million t of new crop Australian wheat in October (shipments will start in December).
