On December 9, the state-owned company AS Operail announced that the privatization process was completed – it sold its business, including its subsidiary Operail Repairs OU, for €19 million to the Estonian company AS Tiigi Keskus, which won the auction.

Rental rates of gondola cars hold largely steady in December 2024, although some operators have adjusted the rates within the actual range. Market players are pinning hopes that rates will remain stable in January, but seasonal factors should be taken into account
Prices for new freight wagons at some Ukrainian enterprises in November 2024 (million UAH, VAT excluding, EXW)
Ukrainian wagon building enterprises delivered as many as 183 freight wagons to their customers in October 2024, including 133 hoppers, 28 gondola cars, 21 tank cars, and a flat car.
Kremenchuk Steel Works produced about 1,000 t of large railway steel castings in October 2024. The total production of large railway steel castings reached 9,300 t in Ukraine in the period from January 1 to October 31, 2024.
Railway deliveries of mineral fertilizers increased significantly in October compared with September, showing a 10% rise to approximately 170,000 t. Domestic supplies grew by 17% to 118,000 t, while transportation of imported mineral fertilizers shrank by 10% to 49,000 t.

As part of the Rail Baltica project, 8,000 reinforced concrete sleepers out of a total batch of 30,000 units were delivered to LTG Infra’s warehouse in Vilkaviskis, Lithuania (according to LTG Group, the order should be completed by the end of the year).
