New railroad operator Carpatica Feroviar created instead of CFR Marfa in Romania
Following the bankruptcy of the state-owned railway carrier CFR Marfa, the Romanian government announced the creation of a new state-owned railway freight company, Carpatica Feroviar. It will play a key role in commercial rail freight transportation and crisis logistics, especially amid the war in Ukraine.
Export deliveries of Ukrainian ferrous metals by railway in September 2024
The railway traffic of rolled steel products, semi-finished products, pipes, pig iron and scrap of ferrous metals decreased by 4% month-on-month to 900,000 t in Ukraine in September. Budamar Logistics modernizing its wagon fleet for grain transportation
Given increased demand for transportation of European and Ukrainian grain, Slovak logistics company Budamar Logistics plans to put into operation 60 new Tagnpps railcars designed for transportation of agricultural products by the end of the year. Tatravagonka Poprad (owned by the Budamar Group) is the manufacturer of the rolling stock.
