Zaporizhstal produced about 262,700 t of pig iron in November 2023, achieving a 83% hike year-on-year but showing a 2% decrease month-on-month. The enterprise also produced 240,800 t of steel (up 181% year-on-year but down 4% month-on-month) as well as 195,600 t of rolled products (up 161% but down 6%, respectively).

LDZ Cargo puts 47 freight wagons up for auction
LDZ Cargo, a subsidiary of Latvian Railways, will auction 47 freight cars that were excluded from the company’s inventory. The auction is scheduled for December 12, and the starting price per unit of rolling stock is €220,000.

Blockade of Polish-Ukrainian border leads to decline in overall volume of road transportation, while Uhryniv-Dolhobyczów border crossing opens for empty trucks
In November, truck traffic expectedly showed the decline due to the blockade of the Polish-Ukrainian border. Exports by road decreased by 27% to 783,000 t compared to October, while imports decreased by 24% to 967,000 t.
European Locomotive Leasing Group and Siemens Mobility sign agreement for 200 Vectron locomotives
Siemens Mobility, a German manufacturer, and European Locomotive Leasing Group (ELL), a Vienna and Munich-based company, have signed an agreement for the additional supply of up to 200 Vectron locomotives. This is the fourth agreement between ELL and Siemens Mobility.
