The sentiment is worsening on the small-tonnage shipping market. Despite the end of Easter holidays, the market has not shown any hint of the recovery this week. Moreover, activity has expectedly decreased in the Black and Mediterranean Seas by the end of the week amid the Eid al-Fitr holidays in Muslim countries.

In the EU countries, grain export prices are falling due to the overall market conditions and competition with Black Sea suppliers.

Activity has grown slightly again on the small-tonnage shipping markets of the Black and Mediterranean Seas, primarily due to shipments of fertilizers from Egypt and grain traffic from the EU ports.

The freight wagon rental market is shrinking in the Baltic countries. Such companies as AS Operail Leasing and Rail Trans Invest OU informed us in March that they were selling wagons and going out of business.
