CLIP Terminals: work on project to build new intermodal terminal in Zabrze

November 24, 2025

According to CLIP Group, CLIP Terminals and a consortium of companies comprising TorKol, Poleko Budownictwo, and GFS Engineering, an agreement has been signed to implement the project “Construction of an intermodal terminal in Zabrze, together with the reconstruction and modernization of the system of access and departure tracks and related infrastructure, on a design-build basis.”

The contract value is PLN 94.8 million, and the work is to be completed by June 30, 2026.

The project is being implemented as part of the “Construction of an intermodal terminal in Zabrze within the EU-Ukraine corridor” program, co-financed by the National Reconstruction Plan (Krajowy Plan Odbudowy / KPO). The investment includes both the construction of modern transshipment infrastructure and the modernization of the track system.

Agnieszka Hipś, President of the Management Board of CLIP Group, noted:

“The signing of this agreement is another step in the implementation of our strategy for the development of intermodal infrastructure in Poland. The terminal in Zabrze will be one of the most modern facilities in the region, enabling it to handle the growing volume of traffic between the EU and Ukraine. Thanks to the support of KPO, the investment will contribute to increasing the competitiveness of Polish logistics on the European market.”

The new terminal will serve both rail and road transport, speed up container transshipment, and reduce the time required for logistics operations. Thanks to the modernization of its intermodal infrastructure, Poland is strengthening its role as a key transport hub in Europe.

As a reminder, we reported on CLIP Group’s plans to build this terminal on the site of a former mining site in the Makoszowy district of Zabrze (near Katowice, Silesian Province, Poland).
