EU Council of Ministers approves construction of 1435 mm railway to Klaipeda
The EU Council of Ministers has approved a new regulation for the Trans-European Transport Network (TEN-T), which provides for the development of a new European gauge railway line to Klaipeda. The updated document also refers to a transport corridor connecting the Baltic, Black and Aegean Seas and additional connections to Ukraine.

Between June 22 and August 4, a convention will be in effect for the Rail Cargo Hungary carrier that will restrict cargo transportation from Ukrainian railway stations to the Hodmezovasarhely station in Hungary for all consignees.
Export deliveries of ferrous metals by railway in May 2024
Railway transportation of rolled products, semi-finished products, pipes, pig iron and ferrous metal scrap increased by 6% to 900,000 t in Ukraine in May compared with April. EBRD to provide up to €300 million additional financing to Ukrzaliznytsia for the purchase of electric locomotives
Ukrzaliznytsia has agreed with the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) to provide an additional €300 million for the purchase of electric freight locomotives. The relevant memorandum between Ukrzaliznytsia, the EBRD, and the Ministry of Communities, Territories and Infrastructure was signed in Berlin during the Ukraine Recovery Conference (URC 2024).
Ukraine to ship first batch of sunflower oil under Grain from Ukraine Initiative
According to the Ministry of Agrarian Policy, Ukraine will ship sunflower oil for the first time under the humanitarian food initiative of the President of Ukraine “Grain from Ukraine”. The products in the amount of over 2,450 tons will be shipped to the Democratic Republic of Congo, Mozambique, Djibouti, Mauritania and Palestine.
