Aliona Shkrum, First Deputy Minister for Development of Communities and Territories of Ukraine, presented the first newly built European railway track in the history of independent Ukraine to European Commissioner for Enlargement and Neighborhood Policy Marta Kos.
In the first eight months of 2025, container traffic in Ukraine reached 151,897 TEU. The bulk (60%) was accounted for by exports of Ukrainian goods, 28% by imports, and 12% by domestic traffic. Laude Smart Intermodal remains one of the leaders in intermodal services in the country.
On September 25, representatives of Moldova’s railway company Calea Feroviar din Moldova and Carpatica Feroviar România (a freight railway operator that replaced CFR Marfă) signed an agreement on the organization of railway transport for exports and imports, in particular through the new Prut 2-Fălciu border crossing point.
