Poland: rail freight transportation down 5% in 1H 2025
The Polish Office of Rail Transport (Urząd Transportu Kolejowego) has released data for the first half of 2025, which indicates a slowdown in rail freight transportation.

EU and Ukraine agreed to update DCFTA rules
On October 13, 2025, the EU Council adopted a decision to reduce or abolish customs duties on a number of agri-food products from Ukraine, including dairy products, fruits and vegetables, meat and meat products. This decision was part of the revision of the EU-Ukraine Deep and Comprehensive Free Trade Area (DCFTA)
ORLEN Group consolidated its logistics assets in Poland and the Czech Republic
The ORLEN Group announced that it had completed the consolidation of its rail and road transport companies in Poland and the Czech Republic. ORLEN Kolej has become the owner of ORLEN Unipetrol Doprava (100% of shares), which specializes in transportation of chemical products, while ORLEN Transport has acquired Petrotrans (also 100%)
