Three more vessels leave ports of Greater Odesa
On October 17, three bulk carriers used the temporary corridor of the Ukrainian Navy. In particular, the vessels Bull (82k DWT, flying the flag of Liberia), Ramus (6.1k DWT, flying the flag of Palau) and Bahar K (8.3k DWT, flying the flag of Vanuatu) departed from the ports of Greater Odesa.
Port of Gdansk to receive €100 million from European Union Fund for infrastructure development
The Port of Gdansk Authority has announced the signing of a grant agreement that provides the port with funding of almost €100 million for the project “Improving the Port of Gdańsk infrastructure and analysing the implementation of a low-carbon OPS system for the sustainable development of the TEN-T network”.

After an environmental impact assessment and cross-border procedures with the German side, the Regional Environmental Protection Office in Szczecin issued an environmental decision that effectively gives the green light for the construction of a container terminal in Swinoujscie.

Ukraine and Moldova signed a protocol on organizing joint control at the Novosavytska – Kuchurhan railroad crossing point on the territory of Ukraine. The protocol was signed following an online meeting between the Prime Ministers of Ukraine and Moldova, Denys Shmyhal and Dorin Recean.

In order to increase capacity, the Port of Sulina is increasing the number of berths where port control can be carried out.
Ukrainian Danube Shipping Company closes navigation on Middle Danube
Due to lower water levels, PJSC Ukrainian Danube Shipping Company is closing navigation on the Middle Danube. Currently, caravans are moving with a minimum load (1,000 tons instead of 1,500 tons per barge).

Ukrzaliznytsia, Rail Cargo Austria and VTG: test intermodal trip on Kyiv-Budapest route
Within the memorandum of understanding signed in September 2023, Ukrzaliznytsia, the Austrian railway company Rail Cargo Austria and the German wagon operator VTG successfully carried out a test intermodal flight, transporting semi-trailers on the Kyiv-Budapest route.
Handling of grain wagons at Ukraine’s sea ports
Approximately 3,300 wagons with grain were found waiting for unloading at Ukrainian sea ports on October 12. Taking into account that approximately 417 wagons per day are accepted at the stations, it will take about 8 days to serve all the wagons currently standing in the railway network waiting for unloading at port terminals.
