Rental rates of gondola cars continue sliding down in July. Several operators told us that a large mining plant, part of the Metinvest holding, will be forced to stop production in the near future due to the shortage of electricity and the high price of its import.

The Ukrainian Danube Shipping Company has announced another decrease in coaster freight rates for transportation of agricultural products in 3,000 t to 6,000 t lots from the Danube ports in June.
The June rental rates have stayed at the level of May in the Baltic countries. Rental rates for box cars with a body capacity of 161-175 cu m and fitting platforms have changed slightly only due to exchange rate fluctuations.
