On September 25, representatives of Moldova’s railway company Calea Feroviar din Moldova and Carpatica Feroviar România (a freight railway operator that replaced CFR Marfă) signed an agreement on the organization of railway transport for exports and imports, in particular through the new Prut 2-Fălciu border crossing point.
Alstom is strengthening its position on the locomotive market – a memorandum of understanding has been signed with DB Cargo Polska regarding cooperation in the field of locomotive maintenance at a new modern service center in Rybnik (southern Poland).
UZ Cargo Poland, a subsidiary of Ukrzaliznytsia, transported sheet metal from the Romanian port of Constanta to the Perechin station via a direct connection. The company announced this on social media, including LinkedIn and Telegram.
In Baltic countries, no significant changes are reported on the rental market of freight wagons in September 2025. At the same time, rental rates of boxcars with a body capacity of 161-175 cu m and fitting platforms witnessed slight adjustments amid currency fluctuations.
GATX Rail Europe (GRE) and DB Cargo have agreed on a fleet of 6,000 freight cars of various types. According to the company’s press service, GRE will purchase the rolling stock and initially lease it to DB Cargo for several years.
LTG Cargo Polska (a subsidiary of LTG Cargo) has purchased 72 platforms for transporting containers and semi-trailers on 1435 mm gauge tracks. The contract for the supply of the new fleet was signed with the Bulgarian company Kolowag following a tender process.
