Rental rates for freight wagons have held steady in the Baltic countries in May compared with April. Rental rates for box cars with a body capacity of 161-175 cu m and fitting platforms have changed slightly only due to currency fluctuations.
The total volume of railway transportation of rolled products, semi-finished products, pipes, pig iron and scrap of ferrous metals increased by 11% to 800,000 t in Ukraine in April compared with March.

During a meeting between representatives of the Ministry for Communities, Territories and Infrastructure Development of Ukraine and a Latvian delegation headed by Minister of Economy Vīķors Valainis, the sides discussed building logistics chains and stimulating economic cooperation between the two countries.
A total of 7.2 million t of agricultural products were exported from Ukraine in April, exceeding the result recorded in March by 3% month-on-month or 210,000 t.

Iron ore transportation by railway from Ukraine amounted to 3.5 million t in April, which was 20% below the volume recorded in March. In particular, iron ore exports plunged by 27% month-on-month to 2.6 million t, while the domestic deliveries rose by 6% month-on-month to 900,000 t.
