Lithuanian port of Klaipeda receives large consignment of mineral fertilizers for Kernel and Sanagro

            The Lithuanian port of Klaipeda has received 55,000 t of mineral fertilizers, most of which are destined for Ukraine, the rest for the Baltic States and Poland. According to Kernel, these fertilizers will have to undergo complicated logistics, with further sea, road and rail handling.

Blockade of Polish-Ukrainian border leads to decline in overall volume of road transportation, while Uhryniv-Dolhobyczów border crossing opens for empty trucks

            In November, truck traffic expectedly showed the decline due to the blockade of the Polish-Ukrainian border. Exports by road decreased by 27% to 783,000 t compared to October, while imports decreased by 24% to 967,000 t.

European Locomotive Leasing Group and Siemens Mobility sign agreement for 200 Vectron locomotives

            Siemens Mobility, a German manufacturer, and European Locomotive Leasing Group (ELL), a Vienna and Munich-based company, have signed an agreement for the additional supply of up to 200 Vectron locomotives. This is the fourth agreement between ELL and Siemens Mobility.

Moldova approves grant for restoration of railway infrastructure

            The Moldovan government has approved a draft law to allocate a €19.5 million grant to restore the most damaged sections of the Valcinet – Ocnita – Balti – Ungheni – Chisinau – Cainari railroad.

Polish PKP LHS launches new transshipment terminal at Wola Baranowska station

Ban on transportation of all cargo via Izov-Exp. to Poland for one of consignees

            From November 30 and until this decision is canceled, a ban will be in effect on transportation of goods of any nomenclature from Ukraine via Izov-Exp. to Poland for the consignee AmeriGas Poland Sp. z o.o.
