Ukraine’s grain exports by rail total 2.7 mmt in December*
According to official data, the volume of grain loaded at Ukrainian railway stations amounted to 2.7 million tonnes in Dec 1-31, 2022, while the total loading volume of all goods at the Ukrzaliznytsia’s network reached 8.96 million tonnes in the same period.
Growing LNG demand boosts shipbuilding

Freight car queues in Ukrzaliznytsia network for foreign operators
A total of 18,800 freight wagons addressed to foreign operators were waiting in the Ukrzaliznytsia’s network as of Jan 4. In particular, up to 32 wagons had been loaded before Nov 1, as many as 3,119 were loaded in Nov, while 12,900 units were loaded in Dec, etc.
HBIS Serbia awards UDP with contract for transportation of 500kt cargo
The Ukrainian Danube Shipping Company, the private joint-stock company located in Izmail, Odesa Region, won the tender of one of the largest European steel producers – HBIS Serbia.
Ukrzaliznytsia to purchase rails from French Saarstahl Rail SAS
Ukrzaliznytsia is going to receive 20,000 tonnes of rails from the French manufacturer Saarstahl Rail SAS this year. Production and supply of rails are financed by the French government under certain credit terms.
Romania planning to modernize railway line up to Moldovan border
The Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure of Romania is planning to invest 1.8 billion lei in the modernization of the Dermenest – Vikshan – Kordon railway line near the border with Moldova.
Grain exports in MY 2022/2023. December
From the beginning of the current marketing year on July 1 and until Jan 9, Ukraine exported a total of 26.3 million t of grains and legumes, falling some 30% behind the volume seen in the same period of the marketing year 2021/2022.
Any goods banned for transportation to some stations in Poland
Transportation of any goods from Ukraine to Poland stations of Wachock, Kunow, Bodzechow, Ozarow Cementownia for all consignees is banned starting from January 13 and until the cancellation of this decision.
