The Polish company Laude Smart Intermodal has summarized its activities on the Ukrainian market. Despite the difficult situation caused by the full-scale war, the operator is actively working in the region.
According to Ukrzaliznytsia, UZ Cargo Poland (a subsidiary of the monopoly) has transported oil products from Hamburg (Germany) to the Ukrainian border in its own railcars for the first time in history. The delivery involved specialized ZACNS tanks designed for the European gauge.
This week has brought even less positive news and changes for owners of small-tonnage seagoing vessels than the previous one. Export pace from Black Sea ports has even inched down. According to the Ministry of Energy of Ukraine, the first test supply of natural gas from Azerbaijan using the Trans-Balkan gas transportation corridor is underway. The delivery is carried out via the Bulgaria – Romania – Ukraine route with the participation of Naftogaz of Ukraine and SOCAR Energy Ukraine
The total cargo turnover averaged some 13.1 million t at the port of Gdynia in January-June 2025 (down 4.8% year-on-year), of which 8.5 million t were general cargo (up 10% year-on-year), accounting for 65% of the overall cargo transshipment at the port.
As planned for July, one of the key operators that works on the Baltic market revised rental rates for its own fleet. As a result, most rental rates were reduced chiefly due to scant cargo offer and low demand for transportation.
