Ukrainian wagon building enterprises delivered as many as 183 freight wagons to their customers in October 2024, including 133 hoppers, 28 gondola cars, 21 tank cars, and a flat car.
Kremenchuk Steel Works produced about 1,000 t of large railway steel castings in October 2024. The total production of large railway steel castings reached 9,300 t in Ukraine in the period from January 1 to October 31, 2024.
Railway deliveries of mineral fertilizers increased significantly in October compared with September, showing a 10% rise to approximately 170,000 t. Domestic supplies grew by 17% to 118,000 t, while transportation of imported mineral fertilizers shrank by 10% to 49,000 t.

Turkey has changed the customs duty rate within the tariff quota for sunflower seeds and sunflower oil. Also, customs duties for sunflower seeds outside the quota have been reduced.

As part of the Rail Baltica project, 8,000 reinforced concrete sleepers out of a total batch of 30,000 units were delivered to LTG Infra’s warehouse in Vilkaviskis, Lithuania (according to LTG Group, the order should be completed by the end of the year).

Rental rates remained unchanged in the Baltic countries in November compared with October. The changes in rental rates for box cars with a body capacity of 161-175 cu m were only caused by currency fluctuations.
Ventspils Freeport handled a record volume of cargo in October 2024. The stevedoring companies all together transshipped a total of 879,000 t of goods in October, showing a 73% or 371,000 t increase compared with September 2024.
