Quotes for Brazilian corn are sliding down amid the progressing harvesting campaign. According to AgRural, by July 27 farmers harvested 55% of safrinha corn compared to 73% harvested as of the same date last year. Yields are high, confirming the expectation of a heavy crop. Corn trade remains quiet.

This season (ends September 1), grain exports from Kazakhstan are expected to reach quite a high level of 11 million t. In 10 months of MY 2022-23, 10.32 million t of grain crops were exported from Kazakhstan (+33% year-on-year).

As many as 156 wagons per day were transferred through the the Vadul-Siret – Dornesti (Romania) land border crossing as of August 8 (up 11 wagons compared with the previous week). ZSSK Cargo reports weakened transfer of Ukrainian cargo to Slovakia in July
During a meeting of Ukrainian and Slovak railroaders, ZSSK Cargo representative Josef Virba said that the company noted a negative trend in cargo acceptance (-25%, or -254,000 t compared to the previous month). In June, the volume of cargo handled reached 1 million tons.
Handling at Ukraine – Hungary border crossings*
As many as 499 wagons were heading to the Batiovo – Epereshke land border crossing point on August 7, including 234 with ore, 84 with grain, and 102 with vegetable oil. Note that the grain flow has lately been gaining pace at this border crossing.
