At an extraordinary general meeting held on August 6 in Baku, the railway companies of Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan and Georgia agreed to have China Railway Container Transport Co., Ltd (CRCT, a subsidiary of China Railways) join the Middle Corridor Multimodal Ltd joint venture, the sole operator of the Middle Corridor.
The transport and logistics company MALBI-trans (Czech Republic) and the Romanian state railway freight company Carpatica Feroviar (which was established after the bankruptcy of the state railway carrier CFR Marfă in 2024) have signed a cooperation agreement within the Middle Corridor.
Starting from September this year, LTG Cargo Ukraine (a subsidiary of LTG Cargo, part of LTG Group) will change its business model and focus on leasing rolling stock and locomotives. Previously, the company mainly provided freight forwarding services.

On August 15, Moldovan Railways (Calea Feratã din Moldova) received the first batch of sleepers to be used for the reconstruction of the Prut 2 railway tracks on the Cantemir (Moldova) – Fălciu (Romania) line.
Interpipe has developed railway wheels that can withstand operation in deserts and regions with high temperatures. The products are already being supplied to the markets of the Middle East, Asia and Africa. The company announced this on its Facebook page.
Ukraine and Moldova have extended the agreement on the so-called “transport visa-free regime” for another two years – until the end of 2027. As a result, no permits are required for bilateral and transit cargo transportation between the countries, which supports the stability of logistics in the region.
