Alpha Trains, the largest private rolling stock lessor in continental Europe, and Siemens Mobility have signed a framework agreement for the supply of 70 Vectron locomotives, including an initial order for 35 units. The leasing company is expected to receive the first batch of Vectron locomotives at the end of 2026.
TEUS, a freight forwarding company, has purchased 10 grain hoppers with a loan from Raiffeisen Bank. The fleet was repainted by Novotrain LLC.
Rental rates for gondola cars dropped sharply in September 2024. The Polish operator Freightliner PL has expanded its fleet with 40 leased grain hoppers with a lifting capacity of 58 tons. The rolling stock will be used on domestic and international routes.
Railroad operator Lemtrans has completed the first stage of construction at its container terminal in Vinnytsia. In particular, a container yard with a capacity of 30,000 TEU per year and a warehouse with a capacity of 2,000 TEU were built.
