Wagon queues at land border crossings*
A total of 14,150 wagons were waiting for unloading at Ukraine’s land border crossings on April 5 (up to 2,350 units less than on March 31 and 3,030 units below February 28).

About 184 wagons (two trains on a 1,520 mm track gauge and three trains on a 1,435 mm track gauge) were transferred daily through the Vadul-Siret – Dornesti (Romania) border crossing as of April 4. Also, as many as 641 wagons were waiting to cross the station on that date.
Handling at Ukraine – Hungary border crossings*
A total of 2,563 wagons including 2,317 wagons with export cargo and 246 wagons with imported goods ran through the Chop – Zahony land border crossing in March 2023.

Freight rolling stock rental rates in Baltic countries in March
The freight wagon rental market is shrinking in the Baltic countries. Such companies as AS Operail Leasing and Rail Trans Invest OU informed us in March that they were selling wagons and going out of business.
Beaucaire – Marseille railway line resumes operation in northern France
The railway line connecting Beaucaire with Marseille was reopened on March 28. This railroad section has been out of use for ten years and now it has got reopened for transportation of grain cargo by the French agricultural group Arterris.

Freight traffic launched on Berezyne – Basarabeasca section
On March 25, an additional border crossing between Ukraine and Moldova, namely the Berezyne – Basarabeasca (Serpneve-1 – Basarabeasca), was launched as an alternative to Sokyriany – Oknytsia and Mohyliv-Podilskyi – Velchynets.
