The small-tonnage shipping market remains stagnant. Some traders report increased demand for Ukrainian corn from EU importers, although the Black Sea freight market is not seeing any particular increase in cargo traffic.
Last year, the Port of Gdansk handled 3,559 merchant ships and handled 77.4 million t of cargo.
The cargo turnover dropped by 13% at Ventspils Freeport in December compared to November 2024. In particular, the port transshipped approximately 806,000 t of cargo of various types (down 116,000 t over the month).

Global Ocean Link has opened two new warehouse complexes at TIS in Pivdennyi Port with a total capacity of 25,000 tons. The company will store and transship grain, fertilizers and other moisture-sensitive cargoes directly at the terminal without additional contractors.
