CMA CGM resumes container transportation to Odesa port
One of the world’s largest container carriers, CMA CGM, has resumed voyages to the Brooklyn-Kyiv Port terminal in the Odesa seaport. The first call of the container ship took place on February 7 (the vessel “Lila Canada” flying the flag of Liberia), and the next one is expected on February 21.
Liepaja SEZ cargo turnover in January 2025
The cargo turnover did not change significantly at the Liepaja SEZ in January 2025. Port operators processed a total of 520,000 t of cargo, which is 27,000 t below December 2024.
Ukraine explores opportunities to create food hub in Egypt
During his official visit to Egypt, Minister of Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine Vitaliy Koval held talks with Waleid Gamal Eldien, head of the Suez Canal Economic Zone (SCZone) State Administration. Prospects of creating a Ukrainian food hub in the region were the main issue of the meeting.
100 million tons of cargo shipped from Greater Odesa ports via temporary corridor
According to the USPA, since August 8, 2023 (when the Ukrainian Navy’s temporary corridor for merchant vessels became operational), 100 million tons of cargo have been exported from the ports of Pivdennyi, Odesa, and Chornomorsk. Currently, Ukrainian products are shipped to at least 53 countries.

Not even a shred of positive changes can be seen on the small-tonnage shipping market in early February. Demand for Ukrainian, Russian and European grain is gradually increasing in the Mediterranean countries, but contracts are still signed with great difficulties.

Medkon Lines resumes shipping to port of Odesa
After a long break, Medkon Lines has resumed regular container shipping on the Istanbul – Gebze – Odesa route. The first container ship arrived at the port of Odesa a few days ago.
Agroprosperis expands geography of agricultural exports and its logistics capabilities
Agroprosperis Group continues to expand its grain exports. The EU countries remain the key sales markets, but this season the company has been exporting agricultural products to Turkey, North Africa, the Middle East and the Far East.

Despite timid signs of improvement on the grain export market, the small-tonnage freight segment remains extremely soft in the Black and Mediterranean Seas , with a minimum of firm grain offers.
