Grain exports from Ukraine in MY 2023/2024
Since the beginning of the current marketing year started July 1,2023 and up to February 29, 2024, a total of 34.1 million t of grain and legumes were exported from Ukraine (down 13% year-on-year). In particular, Ukraine exported 15.2 million t of corn (down 18% year-on-year)
Ukraine: February grain export by rail reached 3.2 mmt
About 3.2 million tonnes of grain were exported from Ukraine by railways as of February 28, 2024 (up 183,000 t compared with the same date of January). Almost 2.68 million t of grain were exported from the ports (up 255,000 t)
Freight rolling stock rental rates in Ukraine in March 2024
Rental rates for gondola cars continue to grow in March 2024. The rates for new wagons have already reached ₴625/day (hereafter VAT excluding). At the same time, some companies still voice rental rates at ₴458/day.

Latvian Saeima bans imports of agricultural and feed products from Russia and Belarus
On February 22, the Latvian Saeima adopted amendments to the Law on Agriculture and Rural Development that prohibit the imports of agricultural and feed products from Russia and Belarus for consumption in Latvia.
Temporary restriction of cargo transportation to Dziakoszyn station in Poland for one of consignees
Between March 11 and April 20, transportation of goods of any classification from Ukrainian stations to Dziakoszyn station in Poland for the Cementovnia Warta consignee is prohibited.
LDZ Cargo puts up two TEP70 series locomotives for auction
LDZ Cargo (a subsidiary of Latvijas dzelzceļš) plans to put up two TEP70 series locomotives for an open-cry auction on March 12. The starting price of the lot (and the locomotives will be sold as one lot) is €214,000.
