Cargounit, a Polish rolling stock leasing company, received new Vectron MS locomotives from Siemens in March. The company has also placed another order for new locomotives for a customer from Romania.
Portugal’s MEDWAY invests in rail transport between Spain and France
Portuguese rail freight operator MEDWAY is planning to expand its geographical reach and is investing in rolling stock to be used in cargo transportation between Spain and France. The company is planning to start such deliveries in 2025.

Kremenchuk Steel Works produced almost 1,100 t of large railway steel castings in January. Up to 500 t of large railway steel castings were consumed by Ukrainian wagon building enterprises in January to produce a total of 159 units of four-axle freight wagons.
OSTCHEM stepping up poduction facility load
Azot (Cherkasy) and Rivne Azot have increased the load of their production facilities to 70% and 50%, respectively. Azot (Cherkasy) is currently producing ammonia, ammonium nitrate and urea, while Rivne Azot has launched an ammonia shop, an ammonium nitrate shop and a CAN shop.
Samskip planning to arrange multimodal shipments via Gothenburg port
The Iceland Samskip shipping company is planning to start shipments from the APM Terminals container port in Gothenburg (Sweden) on April 5.
Hupac launches new line between Zeebrugge and Antwerp
Swiss logistics operator Hupac is launching a new rail service between Antwerp Combinant and Zeebrugge CLdN terminals, providing links with the UK via the CLdN connection. Starting February 27, the company will arrange five weekly trains in both directions.
LDZ ritošā sastāva serviss to put locomotives on the block
On March 2, LDZ ritošā sastāva serviss (a subsidiary of Latvian Railways) is going to hold an auction for the sale of 10 mainline diesel locomotives of the 2TE10U (with a service life till 2021) and 2TE10M series (with a service life within2020-2029), with a run between 3.2 and 3.7 million km.
