Slovenia reduces transportation to the Adriatic
According to a letter dated July 7 from Ernest Gortan, Director of the Freight Division of the Slovenian Railways (SŽ-Tovorni promet), the railway’s capacity on the section from the country’s capital Ljubljana to the port city of Koper will be reduced by 50% by the end of this year.
Moldovan Government approves Romania’s request to acquire port of Giurgiulesti
According to the Government of Moldova, on July 11, the request of the state-owned company Compania Nationala Administratia Porturilor Maritime Constanta (Maritime Ports Administration), which plans to invest more than €24 million in the development of infrastructure of the international port of Giurgiulesti (Moldova), was reviewed and approved.

EU invests €2.8 billion in 94 infrastructure projects within Trans-European Transport Network
On July 3, the European Commission announced the allocation of €2.8 billion to finance 94 infrastructure projects under the Connecting Europe Facility (CEF) program through the 2024 call for proposals. The largest share of investments – about 77% of the total budget – will be directed to the development of railway infrastructure
PKP PLK: railway connection to Police seaport
According to PKP Polskie Linie Kolejowe (PKP PLK), an agreement has been signed with the contractor Torpol and the Police Seaport Authority for the construction of railway line No. 437 and a siding to the Police seaport, located on the western bank of the Oder River near the Gulf of Szczecin.
Ukrzaliznytsia receives two motor tower cars from Austria to construct European gauge railway line between Chop and Uzhhorod
The Austrian Federal Ministry for Innovation, Mobility and Infrastructure announced that two X534 motor tower cars have been transferred to Ukrzaliznytsia for the construction and maintenance of European railway tracks. They were officially handed over by Minister Peter Hanke to the Ukrainian Ambassador to Austria, Vasyl Khymynets, last Wednesday.
New covered warehouse opens at Mostyska Container Terminal
On July 1, a new covered warehouse with an area of 4,000 square meters will start operating at the Mostyska Dry Port Container Terminal. The facility is divided into two separate warehouses, which significantly increases the capacity for storing and transshipping bulk cargo, including meal, grain, fertilizers in big bags, etc.
Moldova continues to upgrade railway infrastructure on Bender – Giudjulesti line
The Moldovan Railways (Calea Ferata din Moldova) has carried out major and medium repairs on the Cainari – Zloti section. In particular, more than 60 turnouts were replaced, and tracks were reconstructed at Causeni, Zaim, Zloti, Cainari, and Cimislia stations. Bridges and pipelines are being repaired.
