French leasing company Ermewa has delivered the first batch of new Eamnos wagons to Polish rail freight operator JAXAN as part of a major deal for the supply of 256 wagons. The contract will be executed by Ermewa during the years 2024 and 2025.
Ukraine and the EU have updated their road transport agreement and extended it until June 30, 2025. In 2023, the USAID Economic Resilience Activity purchased and handed over 50 modern grain hoppers with the capacity of 70 tons each to NIBULON. Since August 2023, the company has transported almost 73,000 tons of Ukrainian grain using this rolling stock.
The volume of iron ore transportation by railway reached 3.6 million t in Ukraine in May, exceeding the April result by 2%. Export deliveries increased by 3% month-on-month to 2.7 million t, while domestic supplies remained almost unchanged averaging 900,000 t.
As part of the USAID Economic Resilience Activity, Agro Region Group of Companies received 25 new grain hoppers, two loaders, three semi-trailers, truck scales, and generators.
The EU Council of Ministers has approved a new regulation for the Trans-European Transport Network (TEN-T), which provides for the development of a new European gauge railway line to Klaipeda. The updated document also refers to a transport corridor connecting the Baltic, Black and Aegean Seas and additional connections to Ukraine.

Modernization works are ongoing on the railway infrastructure in Moldova. Currently, turnouts have been replaced at seven stations (Căinari, Cimislia, Basarabeasca, etc.); soon they will be repaired at Greceni, Vulcanesti, and Etulia stations. Also, about 19,600 sleepers were replaced.
