Spain’s Ministry of Transport (MITMA) has allocated €36.2 million to upgrade sidings at seven stations between Zaragoza and Tarragona to accommodate 750 m long freight trains. This initiative should increase the capacity for international rail freight transportation along the Madrid-Barcelona route

Approximately 5,700 wagons with grain were found waiting for unloading at Ukrainian sea ports on November 2.

A total of 12,900 wagons were waiting for unloading at Ukraine’s western land border crossing points on October 25, up 119 wagons compared with September 30. In particular, as many as 2,338 wagons were standing loaded with grain on October 25 (down 892 units compared with September 30)
Up to 250 wagons were transferred daily through the Chop – Čierna nad Tisou land border crossing point as of October 26 (down 41 units in two weeks). In particular, 223 wagons were moving on export routes (down 35 units), while 27 wagons arrived with imported goods (down 6 wagons).
Approximately 534 wagons were reportedly heading to the Batiovo – Epereshke land border crossing point on October 30, including 99 wagons with ore, 113 wagons with grain and 106 wagons with vegetable oil.
About 11,600 wagons with various goods were found waiting for a transfer through Ukraine’s western land border crossing points on October 25 compared with nearly 11,100 wagons in late September.
On October 5, the Rail Cargo Group, a part of Austrian Federal Railways (ÖBB), delivered 25-meter rails to Ukraine for the first time for Voestalpine Rail Technology GmbH, a subsidiary of Voestalpine Railway Systems.
