Export deliveries of ferrous metals by railway from Ukraine in June 2024
The overall volume of railway transportation of rolled products, semi-finished products, pipes, pig iron and scrap of ferrous metals increased by 1% to 900,000 t in Ukraine in June compared with May. In particular, exports totaled 445,700 t of the commodities (up 5% month-on-month), the domestic supplies averaged 381,400 t (down 6% month-on-month)
Resumption of ferry service between Ukraine and Georgia postponed
The Ukrainian shipping company Ukrferry has suspended plans to resume ferry service with Georgia, which was suspended in February 2022.
Cooperation between NIBULON and UDP
NIBULON has announced cooperation with Ukrainian Danube Shipping Company. The terms of the contract provide for the use of one caravan of the UDP fleet to ship Ukrainian grain from Izmail to the Romanian port of Constanta.
EU allocates almost €43 million to Ukrzaliznytsia for implementation of European integration projects
On July 16, the Steering Committee of the European Union’s Connecting Europe Facility (CEF) approved a project to integrate Ukraine’s railway infrastructure into the EU transport system. The project envisages the modernization of the railway network and the development of a 1435 mm gauge to ensure technological compatibility and increase capacity.
