BLS Cargo (part of Crossrail AG, Switzerland) is purchasing ten new Vectron multisystem freight locomotives (DACHINLBE) from Siemens for use in Germany, Austria, Switzerland, Italy, the Netherlands and Belgium.
DTEK has delivered the first 70 wagons (a total of 4,200 t) of coal from Poland to one of its TPPs. A total of 210,000 t of coal have been acquired with the supply in the period from September 2023 to March 2024.
Approximately 12,100 wagons were waiting for unloading at Ukraine’s western land border crossing points on September 27, exceeding the number of wagons seen on August 30 by some 1,774 wagons. In particular, as many as 3,017 wagons were standing loaded with grain on September 27 (up 388 units compared with August 30)
Almost 954,000 tonnes of grain were exported from Ukraine by railways during the period started September 1 and ended September 27 compared with 876,000 t during entire August.
About 3,100 wagons with grain were waiting for unloading at Ukrainian sea ports on September 28. Taking into account that approximately 258 wagons per day are accepted at the stations, it will take about 12 days to serve all the wagons currently standing in the railway network waiting for unloading at port terminals.
A total of 6.04 million tonnes of grain and leguminous crops were exported from Ukraine during the period started July 1 and ended September 22, 2023 (down 17% compared with the same period of the marketing year 2022-23).

The total rail transportation volume of mineral fertilizers surged by 86,000 t to 346,000 t in August compared with July (up 33% month-on-month), which has become the best monthly result since the start of this year.
The small-tonnage shipping market has shown slightly reduced cargo offer both in the Black Sea and Mediterranean area, including the most active Danube market.
