Freight rolling stock rental rates in Ukraine in November 2024
Market participants say that rental rates of gondola cars have changed somewhat in November, but the decrease has mostly slowed down compared with the previous month.
Agrotrade and OKKO exported 24,400 tons of rapeseed to Belgium
As part of a partnership project with OKKO, Agrotrade has successfully shipped 24,400 tons of rapeseed from Odesa to Ghent (Belgium). Half of the batch, about 12,000 tons, is the grain grown on the fields of Agrotrade Group this year, while the rest belongs to partners.
Liepaja SEZ cargo turnover in October 2024
Liepaja SEZ announced that the October cargo turnover reached the highest result compared with any other month this year. Thus, port operators handled 706,000 t of cargo, up 42% or 209,000 t vs. September.

NIBULON builds new gallery at terminal in Mykolaiv to receive cargo from water transport
NIBULON has built a gallery at its transshipment terminal in Mykolaiv for receiving cargoes from water transport. As a result, the company’s largest grain hub can now work not only to unload grains and oilseeds from rail to water transport, but also vice versa.
Rail Baltica: Lithuania receives first shipment of gravel by sea from Sweden
A total of 50,000 tons of ballast gravel from Sweden have been unloaded at the Klaipeda DMP. This is the first shipment under the contract for 86,200 tons; some 36,200 more tons are to be shipped to Lithuania in November.
CFR Marfa temporarily banned from cargo transportation from Ukrainian and Moldovan stations to Romania
From August 15 and until this decision is canceled, the carrier CFR Marfa will be banned from transporting cargoes of any nomenclature on a 1520 mm gauge from the stations of Ukraine and Moldova via the Reni-Exp border crossing (CFR) to Galati Bazin and Galati Marfuri stations in Romania for the Intermodal Terminal consignee.

The October growth of cargo traffic and rates has turned out to be very short-lived on the small-tonnage market. To be fair, however, not many ship owners were expecting this upturn at all, considering the situation in main commodity markets of Europe and North Africa.
