Rental rates for gondola cars keep tending up in December 2025. However, with most rental rates inching up, some operators still voice their ideas within the last month’s ranges. As before, market insiders suffer traffic problems which are deteriorated by regular shelling of railway infrastructure and power outages.
A total of 20.4 million tonnes of various goods were transported by railway in Poland in October 2025, up 1.7% year-on-year.

In general, no significant adjustments in freight wagon rental rates were reported in Baltic countries in November 2025 compared with the previous month. At the same time, rental rates of boxcars with a body capacity of 161-175 cu m and fitting platforms changed slightly due to currency fluctuations again.
The small-tonnage shipping market looks very uneven in the last week of autumn. Positive sentiment clearly prevails in North Europe and the Mediterranean Sea, while negative trends dominate the Black, Azov and Caspian Seas.
