Port of Gdynia stepped up cargo handling by 5% in 2023
Last year, the Port of Gdynia increased its cargo handling by 5% year-on-year to 29.4 million tonnes. Grain was the most popular cargo, with the total turnover of 6.8 million t in 2023 (up 43% year-on-year). Coal goes next with 2.8 million t transshipped in the period under review (down 17%).

Coal imports from Poland to Ukraine
According to DTEK Energy, Ukraine imported 226,000 t of coal from Poland (the total contracted volume is 367,000 t). The deliveries are made regularly and will last until the end of March (according to the contract), which is almost the end of the heating season.

Handling at Ukraine – Poland border crossings*
A total of 8.5 million t of export cargo and 1.4 million t of imported goods were transferred through the Izov – Hrubieszów border crossing point in 2023 (down 928,000 t and 243,000 t, respectively, compared with 2022).
DTEK Energy orders additional 80,000 tonnes of coal from Poland
DTEK Energy has agreed to import additional 80,000 t of coal, bringing the total volume of contracted raw materials to 357,000 t. So far, 182,000 t have been delivered to Ukraine.
