Liepaja SEZ announced that the October cargo turnover reached the highest result compared with any other month this year. Thus, port operators handled 706,000 t of cargo, up 42% or 209,000 t vs. September.
NIBULON has built a gallery at its transshipment terminal in Mykolaiv for receiving cargoes from water transport. As a result, the company’s largest grain hub can now work not only to unload grains and oilseeds from rail to water transport, but also vice versa.
The overall cargo turnover dropped by 73,000 t to 508,000 t at the Ventspils Freeport in September compared with August.
The Riga Freeport stepped up cargo turnover by 286,000 t to 1.6 million t in September compared with August.
According to the Liepaja SEZ, the September cargo turnover dropped to the lowest level since January 2024 at the port. Operators reduced transshipment by 30,000 t to 497,000 t in September compared with August.
The port of Klaipeda handled approximately 4.2 million t of various cargoes in September 2024, up 136,000 t from August and the highest since February 2022. The overall increase is mainly due to a 240,000 t hike in cargo turnover in the Klaipeda State Seaport to 3.54 million t.
In March of this year, Getreide AG, a German rapeseed processor, registered a branch in Ukraine – Getreide AG Ukraine, which will be engaged in trading activities.

Alebor Group intends to expand the capabilities of its terminal on the border with Romania (built in the first year of the full-scale war) to actively work with soybeans. While in the last marketing year, the company mostly worked with corn and wheat at Vadul-Siret Terminal LLC
