There is a lull on the European market for imported thermal coal. The deliveries to consumers have been slowed down by an overflow on the Rhine. Our sources have reported offers of Kazakh coal in Europe. However, no fresh deals have been signed so far.

Almost 9,200 wagons with various goods were found waiting for a transfer through Ukraine’s western land border crossing points on November 23 compared with 11,600 wagons in late October.
On average 242 wagons were transferred daily through the Chop – Čierna nad Tisou land border crossing point as of November 23 (up 33 units per day in two weeks). In particular, 203 wagons were moving on export routes (up 20 units), while 39 wagons arrived with imported goods (up 13 wagons).
DTEK Energy has already supplied 103,000 t of coal imported from Poland to its thermal power plants. Deliveries are regular, and the company plans to import another 177,000 t of coal by the end of the autumn-winter period under the contracts.
