Goods awaiting transfer through Ukraine’s western land border crossing points
Almost 9,200 wagons with various goods were found waiting for a transfer through Ukraine’s western land border crossing points on November 23 compared with 11,600 wagons in late October.
Handling at Ukraine – Slovakia border crossings*
On average 242 wagons were transferred daily through the Chop – Čierna nad Tisou land border crossing point as of November 23 (up 33 units per day in two weeks). In particular, 203 wagons were moving on export routes (up 20 units), while 39 wagons arrived with imported goods (up 13 wagons).
Ukrainian TPPs receives over 100k tonnes of Polish coal from DTEK Energy
DTEK Energy has already supplied 103,000 t of coal imported from Poland to its thermal power plants. Deliveries are regular, and the company plans to import another 177,000 t of coal by the end of the autumn-winter period under the contracts.

Quotes for imported thermal coal have sagged on the West European market. Consumers do not hurry to buy new volumes, expecting further price cuts. Deals are sporadic, most of them stipulate shipments in December.
DTEK Energy purchases additional 70k tonnes of thermal coal from Poland
DTEK Energy has contracted additional 70,000 tonnes of thermal coal from Poland for the heating season. In total, for the period from September 2023 to March 2024, the volume of imported coal purchases has been increased to 280,000 t.

Quotes for imported thermal coal have decreased in ARA ports. Local consumers are inactive on the market. Our sources have reported a tender for the purchase of thermal coal by one of European cement producers, but the details have not been disclosed yet.
