The sentiment is worsening on the small-tonnage shipping market. Despite the end of Easter holidays, the market has not shown any hint of the recovery this week. Moreover, activity has expectedly decreased in the Black and Mediterranean Seas by the end of the week amid the Eid al-Fitr holidays in Muslim countries.

Handling at Ukraine – Romania and Ukraine – Moldova border crossings*
About 136 wagons (one train on a 1520 mm track gauge and one train on a 1435 mm track gauge) were transferred daily through the Vadul-Siret – Dornesti (Romania) border crossing as of April 18, while as many as 541 wagons were waiting in a queue (down 69 units over the week).
Ban on shipments of waste and ferrous scrap to one of Hungarian consignees
Starting from April 19 and until the decision is revoked, the ban will be in force for transportation of waste, ferrous scrap, ferrous ingots for melting (HS 7204) from Ukrainian stations to Hungary, namely to the Center station for the consignee Ozdi Acel Muvek Kft (OAM).
Handling at Ukraine-Slovakia border crossings*
Approximately 291 wagons (four trains) per day were transferred through the Chop – Čierna nad Tisou land border crossing from April 1 till April 13. A total of 3,223 wagons were waiting in a queue at the Chop station on April 13 (down 198 wagons over the week).

Izov-Hrubieszów border crossing served a total of 17,229 wagons in March with the average daily rate of 556 wagons (up 70 units per day compared to February), including 6,321 wagons with ore, 1,829 wagons with grain, 1,766 wagons with metallurgical cargo, etc.

About 302 wagons (four trains) were transferred daily through the Chop – Čierna nad Tisou land border crossing in the period from April 1 till April 6. A total of 3,421 wagons were reportedly waiting at the Chop station on April 6.
