Riga Freeport cargo turnover in April 2024
The Riga Freeport handled about 1.4 million tonnes of various types of goods in April. Therefore, the total cargo turnover decreased by 108,000 t in April compared with March.
Port of Klaipeda cargo turnover in April 2024
The April cargo turnover of the port of Klaipeda increased by 244,000 t compared with March to almost 3.6 million t. This is mainly due to a 263,000 t hike in handling volume of crude oil at the Butinge terminal to 856,000 t (up 44% month-on-month).
Export deliveries of ferrous metals by railway in March 2024
The railway traffic of rolled steel products, semi-finished products, pipes, pig iron and scrap of ferrous metals increased by 8% month-on-month to 700,000 t in Ukraine in March. In particular, exports dropped by 5% month-on-month to 385,800 t, while domestic supplies surged by 29% month-on-month to 312,000 t.
Q1 results of OSTCHEM’s plants
In Q1 2024, the plants of OSTCHEM nitrogen holding (Group DF) produced 520,600 tons of mineral fertilizers (+1% compared to the same period in 2023), including 387,400 tons produced at CherkasyAzot (+4%, respectively) and 128,000 tons at RivneAzot (unchanged).

Due to a 24% hike to 97,000 t in the inflow of imported mineral fertilizers into Ukraine in March compared with February, the overall transportation volume of fertilizers increased by 4% month-on-month or 10,000 t to 239,000 t in Ukraine in March despite the fact that supplies within the country sagged by 5%

Group DF and Hyundai Engineering intend to build chemical industrial park in Ukraine
In Vienna (Austria), Dmitry Firtash, founder and chairman of Group DF, and Hyundai Engineering CEO Hyeon-Sung Hong signed a cooperation agreement to launch the Chemical Industrial Park project. This was reported by the GDF press service.

The overall cargo turnover rose by 97,000 t to 3.3 million t at the port of Klaipeda in March 2024 compared with February. This is mainly due to increased transshipment in the Klaipeda State Seaport (up 93,000 t to 2.7 million t).
