Port of Klaipeda cargo turnover in January 2024
Transshipment increased by 666,000 t to 4.1 million t in the port of Klaipeda in January 2024 owing to higher performance of both Klaipeda State Seaport (up 392,000 t to 3.1 million t) and the Butinge terminal (up 274,000 t to 966,000 t).
Up to 2,000 t of mineral fertilizers to be delivered from Lithuania to Ukraine
Together with the stevedore of the Klaipeda port, BEGA, LTG Cargo Ukraine has organized the delivery of 2,000 tonnes of mineral fertilizers from Klaipeda to Ukraine.
Results of OSTCHEM’s plants in 2023
The plants of OSTCHEM nitrogen holding (Group DF) produced 2.1 million t of mineral fertilizers in 2023 (up 19.51% year-on-year), including 1.56 million t at Cherkasy Azot (up 39.63% year-on-year) and 528,000 t at Rivne Azot (down 10.81% year-on-year).

In 2023, the Moldovan port of Giurgiulesti handled 2.2 million t of cargo (up 18.64% year-on-year). Container handling performance reached a historic high of 8,646 TEU.

The phosphate market has been stable in Brazil. MAP 11:52/12:52 is still offered at $560/t C&F. One of market participants reports that fertilizer purchases made by customers last year have created large carryover stocks, which does not contribute to the growth of MAP prices.

Railway deliveries of mineral fertilizers to Ukrainian consignees
The railway traffic of mineral fertilizers increased by 59,000 t to about 215,000 t in Ukraine in December compared with November, showing a 37% growth month-on-month.
