EP Cargo: New transshipment terminal on border of Ukraine and Slovakia
The Czech railway company EP Cargo (part of the European energy company Energy and Industry Holding) has put into operation a new transshipment terminal on the Slovak-Ukrainian border in the village of Vojany (in the Košice region, eastern Slovakia).

In Kazakhstan, wheat prices remain quite high amid crop problems. Grain harvesting is nearing completion, and 30 to 40% of wheat harvested this year will be sprouted, farmers’ estimates show. Such grain can be used exclusively for fodder.

U.S. corn prices got support from decreased forecast of world production by IGC analysts and continuing problems with logistics on the Mississippi River. Nevertheless, the price upturn was restrained by corn harvesting campaign in the U.S. and abundant global supplies.

Harvesting of winter grain crops continues in Australia, with about 20% of the total area already processed. In the week to October 15, 67,862 t of grain were delivered to the Viterra network; the company has already received a total of 76,925 t.

Weather concerns in Brazil have become an important pricing factor. The south of the country is receiving a lot of rain, while the north is facing a prolonged period of drought and heat, indicating the El Niño weather phenomenon.

Quotes for U.S. soybeans have increased due to strong domestic and importers’ demand.
Cargo turnover up 1% yoy at Szczecin and Swinoujscie ports
According to results of the January-September period 2023, the cargo turnover reached almost 27 million tonnes at the ports of Szczecin and Swinoujscie, showing a 1% increase compared with the same period of 2022.
Polish Port of Kolobrzeg resumes transshipment of Ukrainian agricultural products after almost three-month break
