Expanding capacity of checkpoints between Ukraine, Moldova and Romania

The Ministry of Reconstruction of Ukraine, representatives of Romania, the United States, Moldova, and the European Commission are working to increase the capacity of Ukrainian rail and road checkpoints, including the possibility of opening a “green corridor” between Ukraine, Moldova, and Romania through Reni, Giurgiulesti, and Galati.

PKP Cargo carried 62 mmt of goods from Jan to Sept

Transportation of agglomerated ore and iron ore to Slovakia through Ganiska station near Košice banned

From December 8 and until the decision is canceled, transportation of agglomerate ore (ЄТСНВ 141139), Martenivska iron ore (141158), blast furnace ore (141143) and iron ore concentrate (141092) from Ukraine to Slovakia through the Uzhhorod-exp. station (ZSR) to the Ganiska station near Košice for the consignee U.S.Steel Kosice is banned.

Poland: Almost 194 mmt of goods transported by rail in ten months

More than 21 million tonnes of various goods were transported by rail in Poland in October 2023, up 6% month-on-month but down 1% year-on-year. Almost 193.9 million tonnes of cargo were carried by railways in the period from January 1 to October 31, 2023, down 7% year-on-year.

Up to 3,200 wagons were moving to the Izov station on November 29, including 1,200 wagons with cakes, 450 wagons with vegetable oil, and 180 wagons with grain. About 854 wagons were on their way to the Mostyska-2 station on that date, including 491 containers and 114 wagons with metals.

Handling at Ukraine – Romania and Ukraine – Moldova border crossings*

Approximately 190 wagons were transferred daily through the the Vadul-Siret – Dornesti (Romania) land border crossing as of December 5 (down 11 wagons in two weeks). By destinations, some 136 wagons with export cargo (down 2 units) and 63 wagons with imported goods (down 9 units) were handled daily in the period under review.
