Kernel purchases two vessels for transportation of agri products
In the financial year 2023 (July 2022 to June 2023), the agro-industrial company Kernel bought two vessels for the transportation of goods. From now on, the holding owns and operates the bulk carrier Aeneid (with a capacity of 44,000 t of grain cargo) and the tanker Mavka (12,500 t of sunflower oil).
ÖBB Rail Cargo Group delivers 25 meter rails to Ukraine
On October 5, the Rail Cargo Group, a part of Austrian Federal Railways (ÖBB), delivered 25-meter rails to Ukraine for the first time for Voestalpine Rail Technology GmbH, a subsidiary of Voestalpine Railway Systems.

As of November 1, there were about 50 vessels in the Sulina and Bystre Canals, including 40 vessels in Izmail (five more are due to leave on November 1) and five in Reni.
LOTOS Kolej buys 10 new locomotives manufactured by PESA Bydgoszcz SA
Polish railway operator LOTOS Kolej of the ORLEN Group has signed a contract for the purchase of 10 GAMA electric locomotives from PESA (a Polish concern specializing in the production and modernization of locomotives, wagons, etc.) Under the contract, the manufacturer is to deliver all locomotives in 2H 2024.

Freight rolling stock rental rates in Baltic countries in October
In October, almost all rental rates in the Baltic countries have stayed at the level of September, with flatcars for timber transportation being the only exception (rental rates inched up in this segment). The changes in flatcar rental rates can still be explained by fluctuations of the currency exchange rate.
