Demand for imported steel scrap is weak in Turkey. Most local mills refrain from purchases. They have to increasingly reduce offer quotes for their rebar amid almost dead sales. Steel scrap prices have plunged over the week.

Liepaja SEZ cargo turnover in September
Stevedores of the Liepaja FEZ all together reached the total cargo turnover of 620,000 t in September, exceeding the result of August by almost 116,000 t.
Ventspils Freeport cargo turnover in September
The Ventspils Freeport reported a 324,000 t increase in the September turnover of all cargoes to 1.1 million t, showing a 40% surge month-on-month. The growth was seen in all groups of cargoes.
Port of Sulina increases number of control berths
In order to increase capacity, the Port of Sulina is increasing the number of berths where port control can be carried out.
Bunge shareholders approve acquisition of Viterra Limited
At the Extraordinary General Meeting of Bunge Limited shareholders held in early October, the shareholders approved the acquisition of Viterra Limited and the issue of 65,611,831 ordinary shares of Bunge Limited with a par value of $0.01 per share.
Ban on ore deliveries to Czech Republic for Liberty Ostrava
Starting from October 14 and until the decision is revoked, Ukrazaliznytsia bans the transportation of sinter ore (ETSNG 141139), blast furnace and open-hearth ore (141143, 141158), iron ore concentrate (141092) and pellets (141114) via the Chop-Exp border crossing to the Ostrava-Bartovice station in the Czech Republic for the Liberty Ostrava consignee.
