The small-tonnage freight market is falling rapidly in the Azov-Black Sea basin and the Mediterranean region in early May. Most players agree that this collapse is a result of decreased demand for grain cargoes from Turkey after the implementation of duties.
Starting May 9 and until the decision is revoked, the operator ZSSK Cargo is prohibited from accepting wheat and meslin (HS 1001), rye (1002), rapeseed (1205) and sunflower seeds (1206) for transportation from Ukraine to Slovakia for all consignees.

Ukrzaliznytsia is launching a new service called Intermodal Train, which allows shippers to sign an agreement with Ukrzaliznytsia on direct regular container transportation.

A total of 11,970 wagons were waiting for unloading at Ukraine’s western border crossings on May 4, which is 149 units below the number seen on April 30.
