During his official visit to Egypt, Minister of Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine Vitaliy Koval held talks with Waleid Gamal Eldien, head of the Suez Canal Economic Zone (SCZone) State Administration. Prospects of creating a Ukrainian food hub in the region were the main issue of the meeting.
At the end of last year, Interpipe fulfilled ahead of schedule the contract for the supply of 10,000 railway wheels for the Indian state-owned enterprise Indian Railways. The agreement provided for the purchase of standard freight wheels with a diameter of 1,000 mm for gondola cars and boxcars of the BOXN Wagon type.
LTG Cargo is holding an auction for the sale of box cars. These cars are currently located in Ukraine on a lease basis, and the transfer to the new owners must be made on the territory of Ukraine.
According to the USPA, since August 8, 2023 (when the Ukrainian Navy’s temporary corridor for merchant vessels became operational), 100 million tons of cargo have been exported from the ports of Pivdennyi, Odesa, and Chornomorsk. Currently, Ukrainian products are shipped to at least 53 countries.
Not even a shred of positive changes can be seen on the small-tonnage shipping market in early February. Demand for Ukrainian, Russian and European grain is gradually increasing in the Mediterranean countries, but contracts are still signed with great difficulties.
